Founded by Virginia G. sometime in the 2020s,
TIPETTA® is a jewellery and glassware universe that embraces heritage, craft, and humor for those who seek unconventional beauty.
All glass components are created in Venice and Murano in collaboration with small, family-owned glass studios to ensure authenticity and tradition.
Designed between London and Venice, all products celebrate the centuries-old Venetian tradition of glass making by drawing inspiration from some of its timeless and most recognisable techniques such as lampworking, mouth blown glass and millefiori.
Respecting the history, but with an individual and modern verve, TIPETTA® is imagined for the contemporary individual who craves character, uniqueness and quality over quantity.
Originally conceived under a different name, (RIP At Last Emporium), the brand is in continuous evolution, very much like its founder who began her career in the fashion industry working across design and product development for luxury brands in Milan and London for over fifteen years.
Now, in a never-ending quest to make worthwhile jewellery, at TIPETTA® we strive to only use the highest quality materials to ensure you are always acquiring a piece worth passing down for generations to come.
Finally, a word on the name.
TIPETTA® has a double meaning.
In Italian, the word can be used to describe a (young) girl with a lot of personality. The word starts with tipa (which means "girl" or "gal," similar to the English "dude" but feminine) and adds the suffix -etta, which means small and cute. Used warmly, it’s a fun way to say someone has a ton of spirit, and a strong character. Like our brand.
In the Venetian tradition, the “tipetto” refers to a spectacularly intricate Murano glass goblet characterised by an incredibly delicate, feather-light cup and a flamboyantly sculpted stem featuring elaborate gold-leaf ribbons, floral details, or miniature creatures like dragons and swans and much more. Glass masters since the 16th century have been showing off their skills creating these goblets and we love paying tribute to this stunning history.
